Elena Dimitrievna Diakonova Gala

A journey through the life of Elena Dimitrievna Diakonova Gala starting in Kazan (Russia) where she was born in 1894, through the Davos sanatorium(Switzerland), where she met her first husband, Paul Éluard, and then on to Paris until she arrived at Cadaqués, where she met Salvador Dalí in 1929. Dalí with his visionary and paranoiac mind recognizes Gala as a kindred spirit. New York, Paris and once again Cadaqués are the new destinations of a journey which ends in the Castillo de Públo, where Gala lies alone at the side of the empty tomb of her beloved Salvador Dalí. We know about all this from the texts written by Gala herself, by her friend Anastasia Tsvetaieva, and by her brilliant husbands Éluard and Dalí as well as from the interviews with people who knew her.
